컨템포러리 댄스 시리즈 1에서는 이스라엘 프로 무용단 키부츠 댄스 컴퍼니 무용수 출신 메간 도헤니와 일리아 니쿠로프가 함께 창단한 OUTRUN THE BEAR 의 듀엣 작품 PALACE를 선보인다. 현재 한국과 유럽에서 급부상하고 있는 T.O.B 김민과 한국적인 색체를 토대로 해외에서 주목받고 있는 춤나 댄스 컴퍼니 그리고 대구를 베이스로 활동하고 있는 수무브 4단체의 다양한 작품을 소개하며 각 국의 컨템포러리 댄스 트랜드를 느낄 수 있는 무대이다.
[ENG]Contemporary Dance Series 1 will present PALACE, a duet work by OUTRUN THE BEAR, founded by Megan Doheny and Ilya Nikurov, former dancers of Kibbutz Dance Company, an Israeli professional dance company.
It will introduce various works by T.O.B Kim Min, who is currently on the rise in Korea and Europe, Chumna Dance Company, which is attracting attention overseas based on its Korean style, and Sumov, a Daegu-based.Adience can to experience the contemporary dance trends of each country.

Megan Doheny와 Ilya Nikurov는 Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company(KCDC)의 댄서로 만나 총 9시즌 동안 이스라엘 전역에서 예술 감독 Rami Be'er의 작품을 공연했으며 20개 이상의 국가를 대상으로 국제 투어를 했습니다. 두 사람 모두 이스라엘 현대 무용에 기여한 공로로 야이르 샤피라 상(2018년 및 2021년)을 수상했습니다.
Megan과 Ilya는 2015년부터 함께 작품을 만들기 시작했으고, Dance Journey 프로그램의 상주 안무가로 활동했으며, 이스라엘 무대 플랫폼의 일환으로 KCDC 본사의 작품을 제작했습니다. 2021년에는 콜라보 댄스 프로젝트 'Outrun The Bear'를 설립했습니다. 그 이후로 그들은 유럽, 이스라엘, 미국, 일본, 멕시코, 싱가포르 및 한국 전역에서 작품을 공연하도록 초대되었습니다.
2023년에는 Megan이 LA댄스 프로젝트에 상주 아티스트로 재직하는 동안 신작을 공동 작업했으며 Chapman University의 게스트 아티스트로 활동했습니다. 현재 이들은 라이브 공연을 통해 전 세계 관객과 소통하고, 창작과 협업을 통해 국경을 초월한 예술적 관계를 육성하고, "SYNC UP" 탐구 워크숍을 통해 전 세계 무버와 파트너십을 맺는 연구 방법을 공유하는 것을 즐깁니다.
작품소개
PALACE는 우아한 악몽의 세계를 엿볼 수 있는 게임이다. 초현실주의에서 영감을 받아 파트너십을 취한 이 작품은 커플의 관계를 드러내며 외부 외관의 층을 천천히 끌어내려 불안과 의심으로 가득 찬 세상을 드러낸다. '정신의 궁전' 개념에 영향을 받은 이 역동적인 퍼포먼스 작업에서 우리는 두 감정의 존재가 동시에 얽히고 충돌하는 것을 발견한다. 캐릭터 중심의 렌즈를 통해 파트너십의 복잡성을 조사하는 PALACE는 자아의 취약성이 어떻게 복잡한 파트너쉽에 영향을 미치는지 질문한다.

Introdution
Megan Doheny and Ilya Nikurov met working as dancers for the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company (KCDC), where they spent a total of 9 seasons performing the works of artistic director Rami Be’er throughout Israel, as well as international tours to more than 20 different countries. They were both awarded the Yair Shapira Prize for their contribution to contemporary dance in Israel (2018 & 2021).
Megan and Ilya began creating works together in 2015, and served as resident choreographers for the International Dance Journey Program in addition to creating pieces for KCDC’s main company as a part of the Alternative Stage Platform in Israel.
In 2021, they established their collaborative dance project, “Outrun The Bear”. Since then, they have been invited to perform their works throughout Europe, Israel, The United States, Japan, Mexico, Singapore and South Korea. In 2023, they collaborated on a new work during Megan’s time as an Artist in Residence at LA Dance Project, and were guest artists at Chapman University. Currently, they enjoy engaging with international audiences through live performance, nurturing artistic relationships across borders through creation and collaboration, and sharing their researched approaches to partnering with movers around the world in their “SYNC UP” explorative workshop.

PALACE is a glimpse into the world of an elegant nightmare. A surrealist-inspired take on partnership, the work uncovers the relationship of a couple, slowly pulling back the layers of the external facade, exposing a world that is filled with insecurity and doubt. In this dynamically charged performative work, influenced by the concept of the 'mental palace’, we discover two emotional beings simultaneously intertwining and colliding. Examining the intricacies of partnership through a character -driven lens, PALACE questions how the fragility of the ego lends itself to the complexity of partnership.

안무가이자 무용수로서 활동을 이어나가고 있는 김민은 한국예술종합학교 무용원 창작과 예술사에서 공부를 마치고 TOB GROUP을 창단하게 된다. 국내뿐만 아니라 영국 에든버러, 스페인, 독일 덴마크, 대만에서의 국제 안무 경연에서 1등과 3등을 수상하는 등 우수한 성적을 거두며 외국에서의 입지를 다지고 있다. 무용 작품이 가질 수 있는 동시대성에 대해서 끊임없이 고민을 이어나가고 있으며 꾸준히 본인만의 색깔을 구축하고 TOB GROUP의 정체성을 확립해나가고 있다.
*TOB : Think Outside the Box의 앞글자를 따 만든 약자. ‘주어진 틀(상자)에서 벗어나 자유로운 사고를 할 것을 의미한다.

혼자 남는 게 무서워 누군가를 딛고 오른다.
마침내 정상에 도달했을 때 나는 또 다시 혼자였고, 남은 것은 또 다시 낙오되는 일뿐.
무슨 이유인지 우리는 떨어질 것을 알면서도 계속해서 오른다. 본능적이지만 자기 파괴적인 면을 가진 어떤 종류의 마음이다. 타인과의 경쟁은 성실하고 열정적인 삶의 동기가 되기도 하지만, 고되고 외로운 시간을 만들기도 한다. 그런 의미에서 위(up)로 올라가는 일은 어쩌면 위만 바라보다가 넘어지는(falling) 일이 되기도 하는 것.
더 큰 행복을 쫓아가게 하는 우리의 ‘상승 욕구’의 시작과 끝은 어디인지, 무엇을 위해 우리는
지금껏 달려왔고 달려가는지, 이에 대한 고민을 한 번쯤 해봤을 우리 모두의 이야기.
올라가고 싶지만 올라갈수록 고독한 현대인들의 이야기.

Kim Min, who continues his career as a choreographer and dancer, finished his studies in Korea National University of Arts and founded TOB GROUP. Receiving excellent reviews and awards not only from Korea but also from Edinburgh, Spain, Germany, Denmark, and Taiwan he is expanding his career in the international field. He is constantly thinking how dance can represent the contemporary society and he is also establishing the identity of TOB GROUP.

Scared of being left alone, I stepped over someone.
When I finally reached the top, I was alone again, and all that was left was to fall behind again.
For some reason we keep climbing even though we know we will fall. It is a type of mind that is instinctive but has a self-destructive side. Competition with others can be a motivation for a sincere and passionate life, but it can also create difficult and lonely times.
In that sense, going up can also mean looking upward and eventually falling.
Where is the beginning and end of our ‘desire to rise’?
What drives us to pursue greater happiness, and for what purpose do we do it?
This is the story of all of us who have run so far and have pondered at least once about whether we should run.
A story of modern people who want to climb up, but the higher they go, the lonelier they become.
SUMOVE박수열 / KOREA

단체소개
박수열은 한국예술종합학교 무용원 실기과를 졸업하고, 대구가톨릭대학교 통합예술치료학 박사를 취득했다. 현재 수무브 단체를 이끌고 있으며, 대구가톨릭대학교 통합예술치료학과 대학원과 무용학과에서 이론과 실기를 가르치며 무용교육가이자 안무가로 활동하고 있다.
모던테이블 댄스 컴퍼니 창단 단원으로 국내외 다양한 활동을 하였으며, 대구예술발전소 Ten- Topic project 1, 2기 개인 작가로 활동하면서 시각, 공연예술분야의 다양한 예술가들과 소통과 협업을 통하여 새로운 형태의 예술을 창조해 내는 실험적인 프로젝트를 작업해 왔다.
언어로 표현하기 힘든 비언어적 영역을 움직임을 통해 표현해내며 움직임의 확장성에 대해 좀 더 심층적으로 고민하였고, 몸과 마음의 연결이 결국 우리 삶과 분리된 예술과의 관계를 회복시킨다는 생각을 하였다.
통합예술치료학을 기반으로 몸을 탐구하는 다양한 작업들을 시도하는 중이며 여러 방식으로 몸에서 발현되는 움직임을 구조-상징-은유의 연결 선상에서 이해하고 이를 통해 몸에 대한 이해와 자신의 감정이나 내면을 표출시키는 온전한 나로서의 주체적인 몸을 발견하는 것에 초점을 둔 작업을 이어 가고 있다.
2022년 서울국제안무페스티벌에서 슬로베니아, 에스토니아, 핀란드 댄스페스티벌에 초청되었고, 제11·12회 NDA 국제 무용 페스티벌에서 < 데이팅어뷰스 >작품이 라오스 댄스페스티벌 초청, < 휴먼 >작품이 오두루아키타 댄스페스티벌에 초청되었다.
2023년도에는 슬로베니아 FRONT@Fastival, 일본 "ODORU-AKIT" Vol.8 Dance Festiva, 라오스 FANG MAK KHONG INTERNATIONAL Dance Festiva에 초청되어 공연하였다.
2023년 12월에는 2023 요코하마 댄스 콜렉션 경연부문에서 14개 국가 130개의 단체 중 영상 및 서류 심사를 통과한 8명이 결선에 진출하였고, ‘컴페티션 1’에서 심사위원 특별상인 ‘Encouragement Award’를 수상했다. 한국 안무가로는 유일한 결선 진출자였으며 요코하마 댄스 콜렉션이 시작한 1996년 이례로 심사위원 만장일치로 준 특별상이다.
현재는 국립현대무용단 지역상생프로젝트 대구•경북지역 안무가로 선정되어 활동을 이어가고 있다.
작품소개
움직임은 어떤 감각을 불러일으킨다.
감각은 감정을 일으키게 하고, 감정은 움직이는 무용수의 정서와 연결되어 있으며, 정서는 아직 해소하지 못한 기억이나 삶의 이야기와 관련이 있다. 그리고 이런 기억이나 이야기들은 어떤 이미지를 통해 다가온다.
움직임을 하는 동안 무용수에게 이런 현상들이 창발된다.
작품< Glass woman >은 무용수가 움직임을 하는 동안 일어나는 내적 이미지와 정서를 외적으로 표출시키며 이미지의 정신적 부분을 무용수의 신체적 에너지로 변환 시키면서 실질적 에너지로 확인하는 과정 중심의 작품이다.

Introduction
Park Su Yeol graduated from the Department of Dance at Korea National University of Arts and obtained a Ph.D. in Integrated Art Therapy from the Catholic University of Daegu. Currently, he leads the SuMove group and teaches theory and practice in the Department of Integrated Art Therapy and Dance at the Graduate School of Catholic University of Daegu, while also working as a dance educator and choreographer.
As a founding member of the Modern Table Dance Company, he has participated in numerous domestic and international activities. He has worked on experimental projects, collaborating with diverse artists in the visual and performing arts fields, through the Ten-Topic project 1 and 2 at the Daegu Art Factory, creating new forms of art through communication and collaboration.
Park's exploration extends beyond the physical realm of movement. He delves into the deeper connection between body and mind, aiming to bridge the gap between art and life. Currently, he is exploring various works based on integrated art therapy, seeking to unveil the true essence of the human experience through movement.
In 2022, he was invited to dance festivals in Slovenia, Estonia, and Finland at the Seoul International Dance Festival, and his work "Dating Averse" was invited to the 11th and 12th NDA International Dance Festival in Laos and "Human" was invited to the Ooduru Akita Dance Festival.
In 2023, he performed at the Slovenia FRONT@Fastival, Japan's "ODORU-AKIT" Vol.8 Dance Festival, and Laos FANG MAK KHONG INTERNATIONAL Dance Festival. In December 2023, he advanced to the finals of the 2023 Yokohama Dance Collection Competition, among 130 groups from 14 countries, receiving the "Encouragement Award" from the judges in Competition 1. He was the only finalist from Korea and received the unanimous special award from the judges, a rare occurrence since the inception of the Yokohama Dance Collection in 1996.
Currently, he has been selected as a choreographer for the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions of the National Contemporary Dance Company.

Movement evokes a certain sense.
Sensations arouse emotions, emotions are connected to the moving dancers' emotions, and emotions are related to memories or stories of life that have not yet been resolved. And these memories and stories come through certain images.
During movement, these phenomena appear in dancers.
The work " Glass woman " is a process-oriented work that externally expresses the inner image and emotion that occurs while the dancer moves and confirms the mental part of the image as practical energy while converting it into the dancer's physical energy.

한국예술종합학교 무용원 창작과에서 예술사와 전문사를 졸업하고 안무가의 길을 시작했다.
2011년 국립현대무용단 안무가 베이스캠프와, 조엘 부비에 안무에 출연했으며, 이듬해 스위스
비디-로잔 극장과 LG아트센터가 공동제작한 피에르 리갈 안무 < 작전구역 >에 캐스팅되어 프랑스와 스위스 10개 도시, 총 28회 공연에 참여했다.
이후 현재까지 < 곰뱅이텄다 >< 창백한 푸른 점 > 등을 안무하였고, 안무가이자 무용수이며 소메틱 메소드를 기반한 움직임 교육가이다.
2022년부터 한국과 네덜란드에서 즉흥 투어 공연을 하며 즉흥 아티스트로서도 활동중이다.
현재 춤나 댄스컴퍼니 대표, 춤나 바디튜닝 센터 대표, 춤추는나무 아트센터 대표이다.

아름다워 보이는게 무서워 보이기도 하고 꽃처럼 보였다가 나를 공격하기도 했다.
점점 내가 홀리는 기분이었다.
창귀가 사람을 홀리듯 부포가 나를 홀렸다.

Introduction
Graduated from Department of Choreography at Korean National University of Arts and received bachelor's and master's degrees began his career as a professional choreographer.
In 2011, he participated in the Choreographer Base Camp of the Korea National Contemporary Dance Company and performed in a choreography by Joëlle Bouvier. The following year, Got casted in co-produced by Theatre Vidy-Lausanne and LG Art Centre and choreographed by Pierre Rigal. With , participated in 28 performances in France and 10 cities of Switzerland.
Since then, he has choreographed pieces such as and and is both a choreographer and dancer, teaching movement based on the somatic method.
Since 2022, he has been performing improvisational tours in Korea and the Netherlands, working as an improvisational artist.
Currently a representative of Choomna Dance Company, Choomna Body Tuning Center, and Choomna Art Center.
